ADAMYA CHETANA Smt.Girija Shastry Memorial Trust, was set up in July 1998 and registered in September 1998. As the name suggests, the trust came into being with a group of us wanting to continue the work that Smt.Girija Shastry had started in her city, Hubli.

Though she was battling cancer for over twenty years, she did not allow the disease to take over her life. She toiled on doing her part in making this world a better place to live in. Her work with women and children from economically poor backgrounds, her work as the deputy mayor of Hubli-Dharwad, her fearlessness in the face of danger…there are many who tell of these.                                              

PROJECTS AT A GLANCE

•        Adamaya-Chetana--VISION-MISSION- Our Journey

•     "ANNAPOORNA"- A project in  partnership with the central and state governments reaching a host nutritious tasty midday meal to 13,000 children of 64 schools.

•       "ATTA-PAATHA"-A unique mobile resource facility using innovative and formal methods to make learning teaching fun for both the teacher and taught. Currently 3 units are reaching 30 governments schools in Bangalore and Hubli(rural).             

•       "ADOPTION OF GOVERNMENT SCHOOL"-Striving for overall development of government Kannada schools, including activities like providing drinking water facility, building renovation, health checkups, providing uniforms, etc with active participation from teams of committed housewives who nurture these school. Adopted 8 Government Schools in Bangalore.

•       "VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMME"-Training for underprivileged, especially girls and women, in the areas of computer and tailoring since 1998.

•       "www.raktadan.org"- Hosting an innovative blood donation site; A unique website bringing blood donors and the needy together.
