What this preview does
raktadan is a voluntary blood donor community in India. The catalog shows donor listings from saved profiles. Completing the required profile details automatically lists a masked donor profile. Signing in alone does not list you as a donor.
Information and your choices
Blood-group selections, city filters, search text, and the agreement checkbox are used to update the interface in your browser. The application does not save those choices to a user account, local storage, or a donor backend. Selected directory filters and search text are included in the directory URL so they can be retained when you switch languages. They may appear in browser history and hosting logs. Please do not put medical records, phone numbers, or other sensitive information into the search field.
Google sign-in creates or accesses a Firebase Authentication account. You can save your name, blood group, phone number, city, state, optional locality, availability, and listing status in your private profile. Your account email is managed by Google. Donation logs are private, self-reported records and do not confirm medical eligibility.
What appears in the directory
Public donor listings contain only a masked first/last display name, blood group, city, and availability. Avatars use first-and-last-name initials. Profile photographs, phone numbers, email addresses, exact locations, medical records, and full names are not included in public listings.
Completing the required profile details automatically lists your masked donor profile in the catalog. The public listing contains a masked name, blood group, city, and availability. Full names, phone numbers, locality, and donation history are not included. To request removal from the catalog while keeping your account, contact the administrators at support@raktadan.org. Availability can be changed independently; marking yourself unavailable keeps the listing visible but stops new requests.
A matching blood group does not establish medical compatibility or donor eligibility. Screening and donation must take place through an authorised blood centre; qualified professionals must assess donor suitability and blood compatibility.
External services and cookies
Brand artwork is served from this website, and font files are self-hosted through Next.js. Avatars show initials; Google profile photos and third-party stock portraits are not displayed.
When you choose English or Hindi, we store a functional language-preference cookie named raktadan-locale for up to one year. It stores only the language code, is used to remember your choice on unprefixed links, and is not used for advertising or tracking. You can remove it through your browser’s cookie controls.
Firebase Authentication, provided by Google, processes sign-in requests and account information. It may keep sign-in state in browser storage so your session can be restored on refresh or a later visit; signing out clears that local signed-in state but does not delete the Firebase account. Google’s sign-in page may use its own cookies. Firebase Analytics and advertising tracking are not enabled. The hosting provider may process request and security logs. Hosting arrangements, retention periods, processors, and any international transfers must be finalised in this notice before a public launch. External services have their own terms and policies. Cloud Firestore, provided by Google, stores donor profiles, listings, donation logs, and connection requests.
Google sign-in uses a popup during localhost development and a full-page redirect on deployed websites. While that attempt is in progress, a sessionStorage marker named raktadan:google-redirect records only a pending flag in the current tab. It contains no identity information or tokens and is removed when the return is handled, when starting the redirect fails, or when you sign out. Firebase separately manages its own session and redirect storage.
Connection requests
Signed-in users can request a connection with an available donor by explicitly agreeing to share their saved name, phone number, and city. Only the requester and the chosen donor can access that request. The donor sees incoming requests on Requests and can choose whether to contact the requester. Donor contact information is not automatically disclosed, and a response is not guaranteed.
Your rights and our responsibilities
The service is intended for adults aged 18 or above.
Before processing real user information, we must publish the operating entity’s legal name and address, a working privacy and grievance contact, retention periods, and accessible ways to manage consent, request access or a summary of processing, correct information, request deletion, and raise concerns. Consent withdrawal should be as easy as giving consent. Applicable statutory rights, exceptions, and complaint channels will be explained in the live notice, with appropriate language options.
Your profile lets you edit saved details, change availability, sign out, or delete your account. For help, privacy questions, or a request to be unlisted while keeping your account, email support@raktadan.org. Confirmed account deletion removes your listing, private profile, donation logs, sent and received connection requests, and Firebase sign-in account. Google may require identity verification first. If deletion is interrupted, retry it to complete removal. Signing out alone does not delete records.
Changes and legal references
We will update this policy when the service or its data practices change and provide any notice or fresh consent required for a new purpose. The date above identifies this edition. Also see our Terms of Service.
The planned privacy approach takes account of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (opens in a new tab) , the DPDP Rules, 2025 and commencement notifications (opens in a new tab) , and applicable Indian information-technology and privacy requirements. The DPDP framework has phased commencement; obligations must be assessed for the actual launch date and processing activity. This prototype policy requires operational and legal review before a real-data launch.
Help and contact
For help, account questions, privacy requests, or removal from the donor catalog while retaining your account, contact the administrators at support@raktadan.org. Completing the required profile details automatically creates your donor listing. Changing availability does not remove that listing. Account deletion remains available from your profile.
