Using raktadan
raktadan is an early community platform for connecting voluntary blood donors and people looking for donors in India. Google sign-in and the private dashboard are intended for adults aged 18 or above. The sign-in interface requires an affirmative agreement to the terms and an acknowledgement of the privacy notice. The checkbox is currently enforced in the interface; durable consent records are not implemented yet.
This edition covers an early testing version. The operating entity, address, grievance contact, and final live-service terms must be published before a public launch. A successful Google sign-in can create a real Firebase Authentication account, but does not enrol you as a blood donor.
The current preview
The catalog contains self-reported donor listings. A listing does not verify medical fitness, compatibility, blood inventory, or a commitment to donate. Signed-in users can send requests to available donors after agreeing to share their saved contact details.
Google sign-in opens the donor catalog dashboard. The profile page supports profile editing, automatic listing, availability, private donation logs, received requests, sign-out, and account deletion. The service does not accept blood orders or payments.
Donation and medical care
raktadan is not a hospital, blood centre, clinical service, or emergency response service. It does not collect, store, test, transport, sell, or supply blood. Do not delay medical care while searching this website. For an urgent requirement, contact your treating hospital or a licensed blood centre directly.
A matching blood group does not establish medical compatibility or donor eligibility. Screening and donation must take place through an authorised blood centre; qualified professionals must assess donor suitability and blood compatibility. Donation must be voluntary and without payment. A person may decline or withdraw from a proposed connection or donation without pressure.
Our intended approach follows the emphasis on voluntary, non-remunerated donation in the Government of India’s Blood Transfusion Services guidance (opens in a new tab) . Medical decisions belong with the professionals responsible for your care.
Respect the community
Use the website lawfully and respectfully. Do not impersonate another person, misrepresent blood-group information, solicit payment for donation, post fraudulent emergencies, harass donors, or use contact information for marketing. Do not scrape profiles, attempt to reveal masked identities, bypass privacy controls, or share another person’s details without appropriate permission.
Participation requires accurate information and respect for donor choices. Reporting and moderation tools remain future work.
Consent and personal information
Our Privacy Policy explains this preview’s information handling. Agreement to these terms is separate from permission to process or disclose donor information. A future donor’s phone number, identity, or medical information must not become public merely because an account was created.
Signed-in users can request a connection with an available donor by explicitly agreeing to share their saved name, phone number, and city. Only the requester and the chosen donor can access that request. The donor sees incoming requests on Requests and can choose whether to contact the requester. Donor contact information is not automatically disclosed, and a response is not guaranteed.
Availability and responsibility
This preview is provided for exploration and feedback. We do not promise uninterrupted access, accurate real-world listings, successful connections, donor responses, or blood availability. Content and features may change as the project develops. Third-party sites and image services have their own terms and privacy practices.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under Indian law. Responsibility and any limitations for a live service must be reviewed in the context of its actual operation, users, and applicable law before launch.
Changes and applicable law
The service is intended to operate under applicable Indian law. No exclusive court jurisdiction is specified in this prototype, and mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected. Material changes to live account terms will be communicated and agreement sought where required.
This is a draft for a frontend prototype, dated above. Before collecting personal information or enabling real connections, the operator must complete legal and operational review, publish the responsible entity and a working grievance contact, and establish privacy, security, consent, retention, and complaint-handling procedures.
Help and contact
For help, account questions, privacy requests, or removal from the donor catalog while retaining your account, contact the administrators at support@raktadan.org. Completing the required profile details automatically creates your donor listing. Changing availability does not remove that listing. Account deletion remains available from your profile.
